Mike Tidd is a fully qualified and experienced cabinet maker and carpenter from the UK,
now based in central Crete. He has over 25 years of experience making
kitchens and furniture.
He completed an apprenticeship as a Cabinet Maker in Toronto, Canada in 1983 and since then he has built numerous pieces of handcrafted furniture, kitchens, and built-in cabinetry.
Mike's partner Jo Logan handles the design and project planning. She has over 20 years experience as a designer and project manager working for many large multinational companies.

“Building a house can be a daunting task, particularly if you build a house in a foreign country and don't know the ropes. If, however, like me you have the assistance of the Carpenter in Crete, Mike, and his wife Jo, then you are saved a lot of headaches. Mike and Jo more or less entirely furnished my new house with built-in and stand-alone furniture. The work included two standard kitchenettes for my guest apartments and a more traditional kitchen in the main house. They designed and made the built-in wardrobes for the dressing room and the vanity for the bathroom. I supplied them with a photo of an intricate Zanzibar bed that I had fallen in love with and Mike made me a perfect replica and also designed the remaining furniture in the room along the same lines.
I knew more or less what I wanted and nobody tried to talk me out of my wishes but at the same time offered suggestions for improvement. Jo is very well versed in state-of-the-art fittings and they were both extremely helpful with selecting tiles, marble and granite. “Cretan Life is an investment specialist company that owns land and historical houses in Crete, Greece. The company owns a number of historical houses in the Old Port in Chania. These houses are of significant and historical importance and when renovating and modernising the company take extreme care to restore them in a sympathetic manner and we therefore use a number of specialist craftsmen.
